Honor Students from the History and Political Science Department

The Arkansas Tech University Department of History and Political Science held its spring 2024 awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 1. Jeffrey C. Weaver was honored with the Thomas A. DeBlack Award during the event. Dr. Kelly Jones, an associate professor of history, presented Weaver with his award.

Various scholarships were awarded during the ceremony to deserving students. Some of the recipients included Sabrina Asous, Madelyn Kate Belin, Jennifer Adams, Haley Greer, Maycie Hardy, Savanah Leigh, Reese Nietart, Gabrielle M. Stock, Emily A. Stolp, Ansley Washam, Carly Mitchell, Mason Moore, Maysie Morgan, Aileen Rivera, Roxaneh Aliabadi, Riley Dunman, Bailee Elam, Kelsey Jones, Hailey Lambert, Alexis Pridmore, and Landon Blair Weaver.

Other awards presented during the ceremony included the Lawrence M. Evans Memorial Scholarship, Nathan and Virginia Gordon Scholarship, Angelo and Rosa Denova Paper Prize, Denova Prize for Public History, and induction into the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. Students who were inducted included Madelyn Kate Belin, Jacqueline Andrea Diaz Lopez, Lois J. Long, Cameron M. McGarrah, Gabrielle M. Stock, Emily A. Stolp, Paige M. Warren, Jeffrey C. Weaver, and Landon Blair Weaver.
