House passes Trust the Science Act with support from National Ag Aviation Associatio´s D.C.

The House has passed the “Trust the Science Act,” a bill that directs the Department of the Interior to remove Endangered Species Act protections for the gray wolf. U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse expressed his support for the bill, stating that the gray wolf population has recovered and that common sense, science-backed approaches should be used for delisting instead of weaponizing the ESA against private landowners. The bill will now move on to the Senate for further consideration.

The National Agricultural Aviation Association is participating in Ag on the Mall at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The event, themed the Future of Food and Farming, showcases equipment manufacturers, farmers, ranchers, and innovators who are working to make agriculture more sustainable with less environmental impact. The NAAA will showcase a Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter equipped with a liquid spray system for applying crop protection materials.

In response to outbreaks of bird flu in dairy cattle, the U.S. government is collecting samples of ground beef from retail stores in affected states. While the government is confident in the safety of the meat supply, both the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization have stated that the overall public health risk is low, but is higher for those who have been exposed to infected animals.
