Authorities in Houston are currently searching for a man accused of defrauding customers of his car restoration business, allegedly swindling them out of over $100,000. Jessie Guadalupe Montes, the owner of American Vision Auto, is facing charges of theft and money laundering. Court records indicate that Montes deceived multiple customers by taking money for work that was never completed or for vehicles that he did not actually own. It is believed that there may be additional victims beyond the ones Montes is currently charged with.
This is not the first time Montes has faced charges for similar offenses. He has a pending case in Lake Charles, LA for similar actions, and has a history of theft-related charges in Fayette, Austin, and Waller Counties.
