Brazilian social media star MC Diegun Md tragically drowned in a reservoir in Salto Grande (São Paulo state) shortly after announcing a new video. The 20-year-old, whose real name is Diego Kaua Oliveira Santos, had spent the day with friends at the artificial lake before the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses reported that Santos slipped and fell into the lake while filming a stunt for his fans, and a strong current caused him to sink. Despite efforts from witnesses to save him, local authorities were only able to recover his body with the help of the fire department.
The death of MC Diegun Md is being investigated as an “unexplained death” by experts. According to police statements, Santos was recording material for his social media channels at the time of the accident. With 140,000 followers on Instagram alone, he was a well-known influencer in Brazil. Following the tragedy, Santos’ brother posted a message on his Instagram channel to inform his fans of the sad news.
