The recent crisis in the Middle East occurred when Israel responded to a direct attack by drones from Iran. This was the first time in history that Iran had directly attacked Israel, but all the drones were shot down before reaching Israeli territory. After six days of deliberation, Israel retaliated by firing rockets near Isfahan in central Iran. Initially, neither side wanted to confirm the attack, leading to confusion about the situation.

Despite initial denial and confusion, American sources later confirmed that Israel carried out the attack without US involvement. The focus shifted towards de-escalating tensions in Gaza, with world leaders urging both Israel and Iran to avoid further conflict. While new sanctions were announced on Iran, attention also turned towards calming the situation in Gaza.

Criticism was aimed at Israeli national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who was accused of embarrassing Israel and damaging the country’s image. Despite these tensions, global leaders emphasized the importance of avoiding a full-blown conflict. Analysts believe that the recent attacks do not indicate a stronger conflict but rather a need for both sides to step back.

Messages of peace and the importance of avoiding further conflict were echoed globally, from the EU to the Kremlin and Turkey. As calls for calm and de-escalation continue, Israel and Iran are urged to find a peaceful resolution. The situation remains complex, with political implications for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as he navigates the crisis.
