Jimmies Softball Divides Doubleheader with Doane – Jamestown Sun

The University of Jamestown faced off against Doane University in a doubleheader that started with a 2-1 win for the Jimmies over the Tigers on Friday, April 19, at the Nelson Family Bubble. The Tigers took the lead with a sacrifice fly from Anna Prauner to score Jeryn Allen, putting the visitors up 1-0. In the bottom of the sixth, the Jimmies responded with Mackenzie Lefebvre hitting a double to bring in two runners and take the lead 2-1. Hope Ransome pitched a complete game for the Jimmies, allowing one run on four hits and striking out six while walking two.

Despite the Tigers scoring in the sixth inning, Ransome was able to retire four of the next five hitters, securing the win for the Jimmies. On the other side, Tigers’ starter Abbi Arroyo went 5.1 innings, giving up one earned run on five hits, walking one, and striking out one. Stay tuned for the full story on this game.
