Kirksville Girls’ Soccer Victorious Against Battle in High School Sports Match

Battle faced off against Kirksville in their final regular season game at home. The game started slowly with both teams unable to score in the first half. However, Kirksville came out strong in the second half with two quick goals within the first eight minutes, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Tigers’ player Lauren Albright had a standout performance, scoring three goals in total. Kirksville continued to dominate possession and add to their lead, with Lucy Tiedemann scoring two back-to-back goals to make it a four-goal lead. Despite some impressive saves from Battle goalie Ainsley Craver, Kirksville kept up the pressure and scored three more goals to secure a 7-0 victory.

The loss marked Battle’s 15th consecutive defeat, as they look ahead to the Class 4 District 6 Tournament where they will face Blue Springs South on May 13th. Kirksville, on the other hand, will be competing in the Class 2 District 8 Tournament against Chillicothe on the same day. Both teams will be looking to carry their momentum into the upcoming postseason matches.
