Law enforcement training event using 3-D forensics held at Owensboro Sports Center

Law enforcement professionals from various agencies across the country are currently attending a 3-D forensic training event at the Owensboro Sports Center. The event is aimed at providing attendees with new concepts and solutions for documenting crime scenes effectively. This training is crucial as law enforcement technology is constantly evolving, requiring professionals to stay updated on the latest methods and equipment.

Organizers have set up various scenes for attendees to 3-D scan using the equipment provided at the training. This hands-on experience allows participants to practice their skills in a simulated crime scene environment. According to forensic expert Adam Johnston, proper documentation of crime scenes is essential as evidence may need to be presented in court years after the incident. Creating accurate 3-D models of crime scenes helps ensure that evidence is properly preserved and can be presented to a jury effectively.

The training event will conclude on Thursday, so members of the public visiting the sports center may come across a mock crime scene. There is no need for alarm, as these scenes are part of the training program and are not real incidents. The goal of the training is to equip law enforcement professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively document crime scenes and gather evidence. The importance of this training cannot be overstated, as it plays a crucial role in ensuring justice is served in criminal cases.
