The races at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships will be held on a 2km looping course near the Antalya Expo Centre, with the start and finish lines located in front of the Expo 2016 Botanical Park.
Representing India in the men’s 20km race walk are Akshdeep Singh, Vikash Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Suraj Panwar, Servin Sebastian, Arshpreet Singh, and Ram Baboo, who have already met the Paris Olympics qualifying standard. Priyanka Goswami has achieved the same in the women’s 20km race walk. They will all be competing in Antalya, with Suraj Panwar, Ram Baboo, Vikash Singh, Servin Sebastian, and Arshpreet Singh in the men’s team event, and Manju Rani, Payal, Pooja Kumawat, Mokavi Muthurathinam, and Ramandeep Kaur in the women’s event.
The Antalya meet will provide more Indians with the opportunity to meet the Olympic entry standards in the 20km races, with a maximum of three athletes per country per event at Paris 2024. India will not have any representatives in the junior men’s and women’s 10km race walk events in Antalya.
Viewers in India can catch the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships live on the Live Stream Inside Track on the World Athletics website, with events starting at 9:30 AM IST. The event will not be televised on any TV channel in India.
The schedule for the event in India Standard Time (IST) on April 21 includes the Men’s 20km Race Walk at 11:40 AM IST, the Women’s 20km Race Walk at 1:35 PM IST, and the Marathon Race Walk Mixed Relay at 3:25 PM IST.
The India squad for the event includes the men’s team of Suraj Panwar, Ram Baboo, Vikash Singh, Servin Sebastian, and Arshpreet Singh, the women’s team of Manju Rani, Payal, Pooja Kumawat, Mokavi Muthurathinam, and Ramandeep Kaur, and the mixed relay teams of Priyanka Goswami-Akshdeep Singh and Munita Prajapati-Paramjeet Singh.
