MilliporeSigma’s Curiosity Cube is a mobile science lab designed to provide hands-on STEM education to students. The company has retrofitted a shipping container to create this innovative learning space, which is currently on its sixth annual North American tour. Students in Centre County have the opportunity to engage in interactive experiments focused on sustainability as part of this educational initiative.

The Curiosity Cube will be making stops in various locations in State College and Bellefonte, including public events at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, the Bellefonte Youth Center, Faith United Methodist Church, and Discovery Space. Additionally, the mobile science lab will be hosting school-only events in local school districts. The goal of the Curiosity Cube is to increase access to hands-on STEM education and inspire curiosity among students.

Through three interactive experiments led by MilliporeSigma scientists, students will have the opportunity to use scientific tools such as modular electronics and digital microscopes to learn about sustainability. By showcasing the practical applications of science and technology, the Curiosity Cube aims to motivate students to consider careers in STEM fields. MilliporeSigma believes that early exposure to STEM education can pave the way for future innovation and encourage students to pursue careers in scientific fields. With a focus on sparking scientific curiosity and passion, the company hopes to empower young minds and build confidence in their ability to succeed in STEM careers.
