Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin, Minnesota has been recognized for its commitment to patient safety. The hospital, along with five other Mayo Clinic Health System hospitals, received A grades from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit organization that provides safety ratings. These ratings are meant to help patients make informed decisions about their healthcare options.

Gurpreet Singh, M.B.B.S, M.D., Quality chair of Mayo Clinic Health System, emphasized the importance of creating a culture of safety to deliver exceptional outcomes and prioritize patient well-being. The hospital staff is honored by the recognition and remains committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of all patients.

The six Mayo Clinic Health System hospitals that received A grades are located in Albert Lea and Austin, Minnesota, Eau Claire and La Crosse, Wisconsin, Fairmont and Mankato, Minnesota, and Red Wing, Minnesota. The Hospital Safety Score, developed by The Leapfrog Group, is updated twice a year and is based on 15 measures of publicly available hospital safety data as well as 12 self-reported survey answers.
