Three months before the Olympics, the majority unions at RATP announced that they have concluded several negotiations with management on Wednesday evening. The documents will be officially signed in the coming days. The 19,000 employees mobilized this summer obtained answers to their requests for compensation. According to a leaflet from FO-RATP, agents of the “metro transport services” (MTS) department, including the 3,000 metro drivers, the most mobilized in July, August, and September, will be able to receive a bonus of “up to 2,500 euros”. To obtain this amount, employees must not be absent for more than four days between July 22 and September 8. On the fifth day of absence, the bonus drops to 1,600 euros. “Exceptional event” bonuses will also be distributed, with different amounts depending on their request during the events, ranging from 740 euros to 1,014 euros depending on the number of days of presence.

RATP bonuses are individualized, with the average premium per person around 1,000 euros according to the management of the authority. FO-RATP also welcomed an agreement on the postponement of untaken leave in 2024, which can be postponed to 2025 for up to 11 days. The MTS sector agreement also includes an exceptional night bonus and an “annual off-period holiday bonus” for those who take their vacation from September 15 to 30. In another press release, the CGT-RATP of the RER department listed the results obtained for professions such as switchers, drivers, operational managers, or regulators. These agents will also receive 1,600 euros provided they do not miss more than 4 days. Negotiations for bus drivers and station agents are expected to be concluded by next week.

The final cost of these bonuses will be calculated at the end of the year, added to the overall budget for the increased transport offer during the Games. The transport offer is expected to be 15% higher than that of a normal summer week and 30% higher on weekends to accommodate the presence of 10 million visitors for the Olympics. In order to finance this additional cost, the president of IDFM, Valérie Pécresse, is counting on revenues linked to Olympic passes sold to visitors. The package costs 16 euros per day to travel to all 25 sites by metro, bus, or RER. Free transport was a promise when Paris applied to host the Games in 2017, but the organizing committee explained that it did not have the necessary budget.

In other sectors, bonuses allocated to agents working this summer are already known. Police should receive up to 1,900 euros, but the overall budget including this bonus and tax-free overtime hours linked to the event would not have been accounted for. This has led to calls for mobilization in various sectors. At AP-HP, bonuses will range from 800 to 2,500 euros gross per week depending on employment categories. Civil aviation air traffic controllers will benefit from an exceptional increase of +4.5% in their usual bonus.
