The Milwaukee Fire Department is partnering with Ignite the Spirit-Milwaukee to provide fully funded therapy sessions to first responders as a part of their mental health program. Firefighters face significant stress daily, and the program aims to address the mental health challenges associated with the demanding nature of their job. The National Fire Protection Association’s findings show that firefighters often struggle with PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski is optimistic about the impact of the program. He hopes that members will learn how to cope with stress, find joy in their work again, and ultimately enjoy life. Chief Lipski also believes that the program will not only benefit the firefighters but also improve the service that they provide to the community.

The therapy sessions will be conducted by licensed therapists and fully funded by Ignite the Spirit-Milwaukee. This initiative is designed to support the mental health and well-being of first responders. For more information, individuals can visit Ignite the Spirit-Milwaukee online.
