This win secured Muncy’s second consecutive Mid-Penn championship. Moyer pitched a one-hit shutout, went 3 for 3 at bat, hit a home run, and drove in five runs. Shannon also had a standout game, going 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBIs. Muncy finished with an undefeated record of 17-0, going 11-0 in the league.
Moyer reached over 200 strikeouts for the season and recorded her 15th shutout. She started the game with a two-run home run in the first inning, setting the tone for the rest of the game. In the second inning, Moyer delivered a two-RBI single to extend Muncy’s lead to 3-0. Shannon added a three-run home run to make it 8-0, securing the win for Muncy.
