NBC Chicago reports: Authorities seeking suspect accused of child sex abuse at Museum of Science and Industry

Chicago police are currently searching for the suspect who sexually abused a young girl at the Museum of Science and Industry when she became separated from her group. The incident took place at the museum on Thursday at its location on 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

According to authorities, the 10-year-old girl was approached by the suspect, who offered to help her find her group after she became separated. He then led the child to the museum’s second floor, where she requested to use the restroom. While in the restroom, the suspect entered her stall, touched her genital area, and when she kicked towards him, he fled.

The suspect is described as being between 30 to 40 years old, 160 to 180 pounds, and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet 3 inches tall. He is believed to have curly, light brown hair, a beard, and a tattoo on his neck of a roaring lion. Chicago police have issued a community alert and are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact the Bureau of Detectives Special Investigations Unit at 312-492-3810.
