On May 5, Russian troops launched another attack towards Kharkiv, causing at least 17 people to be injured according to Ukrainian authorities. The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, reported that the central part of the city was hit and 20 apartment buildings were damaged in the attack.

This incident is part of a series of daily shelling by the Russian army that has been plaguing Kharkiv since the end of April. Mayor Igor Terekhov previously stated that the city’s energy infrastructure was almost completely destroyed as a result of the continuous shelling. The ongoing attacks have created a state of fear and uncertainty among the residents of Kharkiv, as they struggle to cope with the devastating consequences of the conflict.
