New exhibit at National Museum of Nuclear Science & History will showcase contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History in Albuquerque, New Mexico will be premiering a temporary exhibit to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month. This exhibit will focus on highlighting the contributions, scientific accomplishments, and impact of Asian American and Pacific Islander scientists and engineers. The Periodic Hall of the museum will display a poster exhibition featuring notable individuals such as microbiologist Yee Ching Wong-Staal, who made significant contributions in AIDS research, and Ellison Onizuka, the first person of Japanese descent to go to space.

President and CEO of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, Jennifer Hayden, expressed pride in showcasing the achievements and contributions of these extraordinary individuals. She stated that these scientists have enriched the nation and hopes that the exhibit will serve as inspiration for future generations. The exhibit is set to launch on May 1 and will be available for viewing until May 31.
