Matthew A. Love, president, and CEO of Nicklaus Children’s Health System, expressed his appreciation for Philips’ commitment to innovation, patient safety, and quality. He emphasized the importance of understanding the unique care goals and experiences that Nicklaus Children’s aims to deliver. Love highlighted the need for specialized radiology solutions for pediatric patients, as well as the importance of making procedures fun and confidence-building to reduce stress for children and their families.

Nicklaus Children’s Health System will be enhancing its cardiac care with the Philips EPIQ CVx and Compact 5500CV AI-enabled ultrasound systems. These systems automate measurements and strain quantification, resulting in a 51% reduction in quantification time and a 20% decrease in exam time for 2D imaging. The TrueVue imaging technology will help with the interpretation of structural heart disease progression and improve communication between echocardiographers and interventionists. This will ultimately lead to improved procedural guidance and patient outcomes.

Jeff DiLullo, Chief Region Leader for Philips North America, emphasized the importance of creating a healthy future for every child by providing the best technology and support for clinicians. He mentioned that working with child psychologists, in addition to engineers, is crucial in understanding how to improve the patient experience. DiLullo acknowledged Nicklaus Children’s as one of the best pediatric health systems with high survival rates and highlighted how Philips’ solutions can support clinicians with pediatric coaching and AI-enabled tools to improve outcomes and provide hope for families.
