Tara Lawrence is the owner of a goat registry that supplies goats to people across the United States for various shows and fairs. These goats need documentation from Tara to qualify for awards, but recently, the paperwork has been getting lost in the mail, leading to financial losses for her business.

Karen Snow, who has worked with Tara’s goat business for years, mentioned that the majority of their business is spread across Canada, California, Florida, Georgia, and New Hampshire. Tara has faced issues with the United States Postal Service (USPS) only twice in the last 15 years, making it a crucial part of her daily operations.

Tara has always relied on USPS to deliver these important documents on time, emphasizing that her business relies on the postal service multiple times a day. The problems with lost documents started in February and are impacting their business financially, as it operates based on cash flow.

Despite multiple attempts to reach out to USPS via phone calls and online, Tara and Karen have received no response. The lost documents are causing significant issues for their business and customers, especially since these documents are necessary for children to exhibit animals at county fair levels.

Currently, Tara has about eight lost packages with USPS, amounting to over $1,200 in costs. She will need to reissue these documents to her customers, incurring additional expenses. WBRC has contacted USPS, and they have assured that someone will reach out to Tara regarding the mail delays.

Updates on this issue will be provided as soon as we hear back from USPS. Stay informed by getting news alerts on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store or subscribing to our email newsletter. Copyright 2024 WBRC. All rights reserved.
