Tuan Huynh is serving up a cup of coffee from his family’s farm in Vietnam at Vietfive Coffee in Chicago’s West Loop. Huynh, who opened the business two years ago, aims to share his Vietnamese heritage and pay tribute to his roots by bringing Robusta coffee to the U.S. The response has been overwhelming since the shop opened, with unique flavors and blends that allow customers to experience a taste of Vietnam.

Huynh’s journey to opening Vietfive Coffee wasn’t easy, coming from a troubled background to eventually serving a prison sentence before turning his life around. Now working to inspire others in Chicago, he collaborates with community groups and organizations to create a space for conversations about representation.

With every cup of coffee he serves, Huynh shares his passion for Vietnamese coffee and invites customers to become part of his journey and story. His goal is to build a community through outreach and initiatives that serve to bring people together over a love of coffee and Vietnamese culture.
