Mario Parker is set to take on the role of Bloomberg News managing editor of economy and government, overseeing coverage of the 2024 election, White House, Congress, and international economics and security. This announcement was made by Washington bureau chief Margaret Collins on Tuesday. Prior to this, Parker served as the White House and politics editor starting in January 2023, where he played a key role in preparing for and covering the Republican presidential primary and President Joe Biden’s re-election bid. Parker has a strong background in national politics coverage and previously worked as a White House correspondent during the Trump administration. He has been a part of the Bloomberg team since September 2006 and holds degrees from Benedictine College and the University of Illinois.

Chris Roush, on the other hand, has an impressive background in journalism and academia. He was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, and previously held the position of Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. Before his roles in academia, Roush worked as a business journalist for notable publications like Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is also the author of “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and “Thinking Things Over,” a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster. Roush’s extensive experience in both journalism and academia makes him a valuable asset in the field.
