The end of the spring 2024 semester proved to be a hectic time for the occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program at Penn State DuBois. Along with the usual academic responsibilities, the program also participated in a health and wellness fair and celebrated achieving full 10-year reaccreditation status.

Students and faculty members from the OTA program attended the health and wellness fair at Christ the King Manor in DuBois on April 25. The fair provided an opportunity for residents of the retirement community and guests to learn about various health organizations in the community. The OTA program offered health and wellness mini sessions and conducted a CarFit and safe driving event to promote safety and well-being.

Achieving full 10-year reaccreditation status was a significant milestone for the OTA program at Penn State DuBois. This recognition highlights the program’s commitment to maintaining high educational standards and ensuring that students receive a quality education. With this achievement, the program can continue to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their future careers as occupational therapy assistants.

Overall, the end of the semester was a busy but rewarding time for the OTA program at Penn State DuBois. By participating in community events and achieving reaccreditation status, the program demonstrated its dedication to promoting health and well-being, both within the community and among its students.
