Korean experts are advising Vietnam to focus on two prominent trends in the semiconductor industry: devices for AI processing and high-speed graphics processors with high-capacity memory. Professor Park Inkyu from KAIST shared insights at a conference on advanced semiconductor systems, emphasizing the importance of these areas for future development. He highlighted the increasing use of IoT and advanced sensors in various sectors, creating a demand for miniaturized, low-power sensors with improved performance.

Professor Park also mentioned the importance of semiconductor devices for AI processing and high-speed graphics processors with large memory capacity. These areas are crucial for applications such as big data processing and machine learning, which are becoming increasingly popular in industries like healthcare and finance. He advised Vietnam to focus on research and investment in these areas to drive the semiconductor industry forward.

Another Korean expert, Professor Lee Young Hee, emphasized the need for Vietnam to invest in education and training for high-quality human resources in the semiconductor industry. He suggested establishing a National Research Laboratory focusing on semiconductors to drive research, development, and training efforts. Building a strong workforce in the semiconductor industry will be essential for Vietnam’s future growth and competitiveness.

In a separate seminar, Vietnamese experts discussed the demand for skilled engineers in the semiconductor industry and the need to enhance training programs to meet this demand. Predictions suggest that Vietnam will need thousands of engineers by 2030 to support the design, production, and packaging of semiconductor chips. Developing undergraduate and graduate training programs, establishing laboratories, and fostering international cooperation will be key to building a strong workforce in the semiconductor industry.

Overall, experts are urging Vietnam to focus on key areas such as AI processing, high-speed graphics processors, and memory devices in order to drive future growth in the semiconductor industry. By investing in education, research, and training programs, Vietnam can position itself as a leading player in this crucial sector.
