The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) is currently investigating the removal of 11 lots of Andreu brand hot chocolate from the market due to the presence of milk proteins that are not declared on the label. This poses a risk for individuals who are allergic to milk.

The affected product is the ‘Family cup chocolate’ from the Andreu brand, which is sold in blister packs containing 5 units of 50 grams each. The product has been distributed in the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha, and Aragón, and there is a possibility that it may have been redistributed to other autonomous communities as well.

As a precautionary measure, individuals with milk protein allergies are advised not to consume the product until further notice. While the consumption of this product may pose a risk to allergic individuals, it is safe for consumers who do not have milk allergies. Aesan is working to ensure that the product is removed from the market to prevent any potential health risks.
