The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has approved a 30-year lease for Mayo Clinic Health System to occupy integrated research workspace in the new Science and Health Sciences Building at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Mayo Clinic Health System has committed $13.7 million to the project and will have space on all five floors of the building. The space will be integrated into the UW-Eau Claire faculty and student spaces, providing research, instructional, office, and meeting space.

Construction is set to begin this summer on the state-of-the-art Science and Health Sciences Building, which will cost $340.3 million. The 330,000-square-foot building will replace the outdated Phillips Hall and will house multiple academic programs, including biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, geography and anthropology, geology and environmental science, public health and environmental studies, neuroscience, materials science and biomedical engineering, physics and astronomy, and nursing.

This collaboration between Mayo Clinic Health System and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will provide valuable research and learning opportunities for both students and faculty. The new facility will enhance the academic programs offered at the university and support groundbreaking research in various fields of science and health sciences.
