Santa Maria Chamber and City Council honor businesses of the quarter at City Council meeting

Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum were recognized as the Santa Maria businesses of the quarter between April and June of 2024. Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service, located at 320 Oak St. in Santa Maria, was founded by Daniel Keuma in 1991 after moving from Hawaii. The company, which started as a one-truck operation, has expanded to seven trucks and eight employees. They offer services to both residential and commercial customers and are actively involved in supporting community events and charities.

Trojan Petroleum, situated at 1665 West Betteravia Rd. in Santa Maria, was established 43 years ago by Bud and Ebba Richards and has evolved into a full-service petroleum distributor. The company specializes in delivering fuel to farm locations and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Additionally, they are an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site, employing 15 delivery trucks. Trojan Petroleum is a member of various local civic groups.

The recognition of local small businesses by the Chamber of Commerce program takes place four times a year and holds specific criteria for selection. These criteria include having fewer than 20 employees, being in operation for a minimum of five years, being physically located within the city limits, and being a member in good standing of the local Chamber of Commerce. This recognition not only provides exposure for the businesses but also serves as a reminder to the community of the diverse and long-standing businesses that contribute to the city’s economy.

The full recognition ceremony can be viewed through the City’s livestream of the Tuesday City Council meeting, accessible on the City of Santa Maria website. This particular City Council meeting was recorded on April 16, 2024, at the Santa Maria City Hall Chambers. More information can be found on CityofSantaMaria.org.
