USD Sports Information, Mercede Odegaard, announced that USD students will have a better view and more comfortable seating options in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center starting in the 2024-25 academic year. The seating changes are based on feedback from students and will enhance the gameday experience.

Students will still have the option to sit in the bleacher seats in sections 102 and 103, but now sections 104 and 105 will also be reserved for students. This adjustment will give students better sightlines and more comfort while cheering on the Coyotes at games. The Coyote Crazies, led by President Elizabeth Wiggins, are excited to welcome the new student section and believe it will bring students together with the community on gamedays.

According to Campus Activities Board Vice President Sam Anderson, the new seating location will provide students from all backgrounds a view of the game and the overall Coyote athletics experience. It also presents new opportunities for students to engage with the game in different ways. Athletic Director Jon Schemmel emphasized that student engagement is a top priority and that providing better seating options is a common request from students.

The student section will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis in sections 102, 103, 104, and 105. This initiative aims to elevate the campus experience and gameday atmosphere for students.
