The Lazio Regional Administrative Court has accepted the appeal of ‘Pace Terra Dignità’ by Michele Santoro for the north-west constituency. This means that ‘Pace Terra Dignità’ will now be present throughout Italy after having to collect 15 thousand signatures in each constituency.
The Regional Administrative Court for Lazio, in its final ruling on the appeal, has rejected the Ministry of the Interior and allowed the ‘Pace Terra Dignità’ list to be included in the elections for the renewal of the European Parliament in 2024. This decision came after the electoral offices in Milan and the Cassation had previously excluded the list for irregularities in signatures collected in Val d’Aosta.
The TAR justified its decision by pointing out that the qualification of the authenticating person as a regional councilor was documented prior to the collection of signatures and was duly proven by the list presenters. Therefore, the exclusion of the list due to lack of indication of the authenticator’s qualification in Val d’Aosta was deemed incorrect. Because no further complaints or exceptions were raised, the appeal was accepted, and the contested documents were annulled, allowing the list to participate in the upcoming elections.
