A new video has emerged showing the daring rescue of 46 dogs by police officers in Fairfield. The incident took place at a business complex on Bloomfield Avenue near Route 46 on a Saturday night. Police officers arrived at the scene of the Pio Costa Industrial Complex without any fire safety equipment and immediately rushed into the building filled with heavy smoke to save the dogs.
In the video, police officers can be seen breaking through a security door to access the kennels where the dogs were housed. Despite the difficult conditions, the officers managed to locate and rescue all 46 dogs from the smoky building.
The fire that caused the smoke had started in a nearby convenience and smoke shop and quickly spread, affecting surrounding businesses as well. One police officer had to be taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation, but all the dogs were successfully rescued.
After the rescue, the dogs were examined by a veterinarian and then moved to a different facility for their safety. The quick and brave actions of the police officers saved the lives of 46 dogs that night.
