SEED Center to Host Various Events in Celebration of National Small Business Development Week

The Southwest Economic Development Alliance is hosting a series of events in Lake Charles, Louisiana as part of National Small Business Development Week. This week celebrates the hard work, dedication, and economic contributions of small businesses across the country.

The first event, the Incubator of SWLA Showcase, will feature keynote speaker David Minton, owner of Pentangeli Row Development Group and Cypress Group. He will discuss starting a business, growing a business, and managing success. The event will be held on Monday, April 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Food will be provided, and RSVP is required.

On Tuesday, April 30, the Business Roundtable on “Money: Finding, Managing and Growing this Resource in a Small Business Environment” will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event is free to the public.

The following day, Wednesday, May 1, the Business Roundtable on “Successfully Recruiting, Training and Retaining Talent in Southwest Louisiana – It Can Be Done!” will occur from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Moderated by Incubator Program Participant and owner of 3 Light Services, Amy Vincent, the event will feature a panel of business leaders. It is also free to the public with panelists including Adam Carter from Prosperity Management and Christa Girard from RECON.

Lastly, on Thursday, May 2, the Business Pitch Contest will begin at 5 pm and is open to the public free of charge. Attendees are encouraged to come support local entrepreneurs.
