Chicago police are searching for a suspect who sexually abused a girl at the Museum of Science and Industry after she got separated from her group. The crime took place at the museum located at 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

The incident occurred on Thursday when a 10-year-old girl became separated from her group and was approached by the suspect who offered to help her find them. The suspect took the child to the museum’s second floor and when the girl asked to use the restroom, he followed her.

While the girl was in the restroom, the suspect entered the room, crawled under the stall door, and touched the child inappropriately. The girl managed to kick towards the offender who then fled from the restroom.

The suspect is described as being between 30 to 40 years old, weighing between 160 to 180 pounds, and standing between 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet 3 inches tall. He has curly light brown hair, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck.

Chicago police have issued a community alert and are asking anyone with information to call the Bureau of Detectives Special Investigations Unit at 312-492-3810.
