Two Helena breweries recently made a big impression at the World Beer Cup, with Lewis and Clark Brewing Company taking home a gold award for their Miner’s Gold Hefeweizen American wheat beer. The owner, Max Pigman, expressed his excitement and pride in the achievement, stating that this beer is one of the most award-winning wheat beers in history. This is the second time Miner’s Gold has won gold at the World Beer Cup, solidifying its reputation for quality and consistency.

In another win for Montana breweries, Copper Furrow Brewing earned a bronze award for their Tmavé international dark lager. This was the first time Copper Furrow Brewing has medalled at the World Beer Cup, making it a significant achievement for the brewery. Brewers from all over the world competed in the event, with only around 300 awards given out across various categories.

Nick Diehl, the head brewer at Copper Furrow Brewing, expressed his pride in receiving recognition from industry experts, noting the hard work that goes into crafting quality beer. Tmavé, the award-winning dark Czech lager, has been a staple at Copper Furrow Brewing for over two years, showcasing a balance of richness and drinkability. Diehl, who is the sole brewer at Copper Furrow, found the win to be a rewarding validation of his craft.

In addition to Lewis and Clark Brewing Company and Copper Furrow Brewing, two other Montana breweries, Sacred Brewing Company in Kalispell and MAP Brewing Company in Bozeman, also won bronze awards at the World Beer Cup. The full list of winners from the event can be found for those interested in exploring a diverse range of award-winning beers.
