Plants and animals worldwide are facing challenges from factors such as invasive species, pollution, and climate change, many of which are directly linked to human activities. In the last 50 years, there have been efforts to address these issues and make progress towards conservation.
Certain places like Gorongosa National Park have shown inspiring stories of wildlife recovery. This recovery not only benefits wildlife but also has positive impacts on local communities. However, there are international organizations like IPBES, COP 15, and CITES dedicated to biodiversity conservation, but they may not always align with individual countries’ conservation plans.
The big question remains – how can these organizations work together effectively to preserve global biodiversity, and what challenges do they face in doing so? As we conclude our series “SOS: Save Our Species,” we delve into the complexities of global biodiversity conservation efforts.
