The Jets have decided to retain coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas for the 2024 season, but changes have been made to their sports performance and sports science staff. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, director of high performance Brad DeWeese is no longer part of the organization. Additionally, assistant director of high performance Robert Sausaman and director of sports science Matt Sams have also left the team since being hired when Saleh became the coach in 2021.

As of now, Alexander Carnall has been named the sports science coordinator, but there have been no new additions on the performance side of things. Cimini reports that the departures were not due to performance issues, however, Douglas did acknowledge the high number of injuries the team has experienced along the offensive line in the past two seasons. To address this, the team has acquired older tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses in an effort to improve the line’s performance.

Moving forward, keeping these key players healthy and on the field will be crucial for the Jets in the upcoming 2024 season. Despite the changes in the sports performance and science staff, the team remains focused on making positive developments to ensure a successful season.
