Stephanie Tierney has been appointed to assist AMC Theatres in developing its new movie distribution business. This decision comes after the unprecedented success of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé. Tierney, a veteran of Fandango, will hold the title of vice president, distribution, and will collaborate with the music industry to create new projects and marketing campaigns that enhance fan engagement.

In another development, Kevin Arnold has been promoted to vice president of programming promotions & partnerships for AMC’s distribution venture. The goal for all three executives is to bring more top music artists to the big screen through AMC Theatres Distribution. This move was inspired by the success of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s films that were distributed by AMC Theatres.

Last year, AMC Theatres surprised Hollywood by becoming the distributor for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which grossed $261.6 million globally. Following this success, Beyoncé also released her own film that grossed $43.9 million domestically. This move represented a shift from the traditional Hollywood studio system.

During her time at Fandango, Tierney led the integrated marketing team and worked closely with various partners to drive consumer awareness and ticket sales. Prior to Fandango, she held marketing roles with various brands, including Sundance Institute, Film Independent, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Los Angeles Clippers, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

AMC’s Chief Content Officer, Elizabeth Frank, expressed excitement about Tierney’s expertise and enthusiasm joining the team to build upon the success of AMC Theatres Distribution. This marks an exciting new chapter for AMC as they continue to expand their presence in the film industry.
