The Evidence of Americans’ Amazon Prime Obsession is Clear

According to new data, Amazon Prime had 180 million members in March, representing 75% of all US shoppers. This illustrates the immense popularity and ubiquity of Amazon in the online shopping world. It is now more common than not to be an Amazon Prime member, with the number growing steadily each year.

The data, sourced from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, shows an 8% increase in Prime membership from the previous year. This growth potential suggests that Amazon Prime continues to attract new members, albeit at a slower rate than before. The subscription fees, which amount to $15 per month or $140 annually, are a significant source of revenue for Amazon.

Analysts predict a 12% jump in the company’s subscription revenue for the first quarter, with data expected to be released on April 30th. Other retailers, such as Target and Walmart, are also offering membership services to compete with Amazon. These services include perks like free shipping on online orders and access to streaming services.

Despite efforts by other retailers to rival Amazon Prime, the e-commerce giant remains a dominant force in the industry. Even items purchased on other websites, such as eBay, are often shipped by Amazon. This demonstrates the extent to which Amazon has ingrained itself into the online shopping experience.
