The qualification stage of the second World Corporate Chess Championships has recently come to an end, with eight successful teams now preparing for the highly anticipated finals in New York. During the online qualification stage, 64 teams from 46 companies and 26 countries across four continents competed fiercely for a spot in the finals, with top global corporations like Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, and UBS participating.

While most teams consisted of amateur players and enthusiasts, each team had the option to include one player with a FIDE rating of over 2400 points, and some even recruited Grandmasters such as Jan-Krzysztof Duda and WGM Jolanta Zawadzka. The final eight contenders were determined after engaging in online tournaments in rapid and blitz formats, culminating in an online knockout stage.

The companies that have successfully qualified for the World Corporate Chess Championship finals will compete in a series of over-the-board matches from June 15 to 17 in New York. The tournament will consist of a group stage and an intense playoff stage, promising an exciting competition for participants and spectators alike.

Finalists will have their travel and accommodation expenses covered in New York, and each qualifying team will also secure four seats for an online simultaneous chess match against a participant from the FIDE Candidates Tournament.
