Facilitators from the University of Nebraska Medical Center will be leading a training on Youth Mental Health First Aid on April 20th at the Cottonwood County Historical Society in Windom. The program is designed for individuals who work with young people and will be conducted in Spanish. Participants will gain skills to identify signs of mental illness, recognize substance use disorder, offer support during a mental health crisis, and have conversations about mental health with family and friends.
This training is specifically for adults and will include a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and lunch. Attendees will also receive a $25 gift card and a certificate of participation upon completion. The facilitators leading the training include an outreach project specialist and a Ph.D. student.
