As many people approach the end of their lives, they often experience visions and dreams in which they are reunited with loved ones who have passed away. These experiences are both mysterious and common, but what can science tell us about them? Chris Kerr, a hospice physician and neurobiologist, embarked on a research journey to answer these questions after witnessing his dying father have a similar experience when Kerr was just a teenager. Dr. Kerr now serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo and was recently featured in a New York Times magazine article. He is also the author of the book “Death is But a Dream: Finding Hope and Meaning in End-of-Life Dreams.”

Susan Moran serves as the host of the discussion with Dr. Kerr, while Susan Moran and Shelley Schlender act as producers. Shelley Schlender also serves as the Executive Producer of the segment. Through their conversation, they aim to delve deeper into the topic of end-of-life experiences and how they impact individuals who have them. Dr. Kerr’s unique perspective as both a medical professional and a researcher adds valuable insights to this intriguing phenomenon.
