Doan Thach Tuyen’s skin care business has been facing multiple fines due to encroaching on cosmetic surgery practices and frequently changing its operating locations. On April 25, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, Tang Chi Thuong, announced that a surprise inspection was conducted at the facility located at 3/4 Street 25A, Tan Quy Ward, District 7. The inspection revealed illegal advertising on Facebook under the name “Doan Thach Tuyen”, promoting cosmetic surgery procedures such as facial thread implants, breast augmentation, and abdominal liposuction.

The facility was initially granted a business registration certificate in October 2019 by the People’s Committee of District 7, but later registered for changes in April 2021 to offer facial care services. However, the facility had not obtained the necessary license from the Department of Health to conduct medical examinations and treatments. During the inspection, used syringes, drainage tubes with fresh blood stains, and other medical waste were found on the ground floor, leading to concerns about the facility’s hygiene and safety practices.

The inspection team discovered a room on the first floor equipped with patient beds, a customer care consulting area, and invoice books for services like structural rhinoplasty, filler injections, and upper eyelid fat grafting. The second floor housed a closed room where two customers, including a foreign national who had undergone rhinoplasty, were found. The shelves contained products with unknown origins, raising further red flags about the facility’s practices.

Following the inspection, the facility was ordered to cease all cosmetic surgery procedures and remove advertisements for medical examinations and treatments. It is anticipated that the facility will be suspended for 4.5 months and fined 60 million VND for its violations. Due to its history of repeat violations and lack of cooperation with authorities, the facility may face criminal proceedings.

The incident serves as a reminder for the public to be cautious of unreliable medical service advertisements on social media platforms. If illegal or false medical advertisements are encountered, individuals are encouraged to report them through the designated hotline or online health applications to ensure public safety and prevent deceptive practices in the medical field.
