This Wednesday, the United States expressed concern over the disturbing reports of mass graves discovered on the grounds of Naser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip. It was reported that over 320 bodies were found by Gazan authorities, prompting Washington to take the accusations seriously and pressure Israel for more information on the matter.

The Israeli Army denied the accusations, claiming that they had examined mortal remains in the health complex while conducting a raid to locate hostages held by Palestinians. Meanwhile, Amnesty International stressed the need for independent investigations into the mass graves to ensure accountability and transparency.

Erika Guevara-Rosas, Amnesty International’s senior director, called for immediate access for human rights investigators and forensic experts to the occupied Gaza Strip to preserve evidence and conduct thorough investigations into the alleged war crimes.

In response, the United States criticized reports in Israeli media that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich was seeking to legalize 68 outposts in the West Bank. Deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel stated that such actions are dangerous, reckless, and undermine the peace process. The Biden Administration will continue to urge Israeli officials to refrain from illegal measures that jeopardize peace efforts.
