Jimmy Thelin, currently coaching Elfsborg, is set to take over as Aberdeen’s head coach mid-season. Thelin expressed his excitement about this new opportunity, calling it a “perfect match.” He mentioned the support he has received from Aberdeen’s management and fans, as well as his appreciation for the intensity and speed of the league.

Thelin emphasized the importance of alignment between the club and himself, stating that both parties need to believe in each other to move in the same direction. He highlighted his attacking philosophy that focuses on playing an intense and direct style of football, with all players working together to defend as a unit and create scoring opportunities.

Having only coached three games in the new Allsvenskan season with Elfsborg, Thelin is ready to transition his focus to Aberdeen and work towards a revival at Pittodrie. He sees this opportunity as a chance for a respectful exit from Elfsborg and a promising new chapter with Aberdeen.
