Russian troops launched a combined missile strike on Ukraine on the night of April 27. According to a statement by Nikolai Oleshchuk, commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian military used 34 air, ground, and sea-based missiles. The attack included various types of missiles such as cruise missiles, guided air missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, aeroballistic missiles, and others.
The Ukrainian side reported that 21 Russian missiles were destroyed during the attack. The city of Kharkov experienced rockets hitting the third psychiatric hospital. The shelling resulted in damage to buildings, including windows, roofs, and interior decorations. A woman was injured as a result of the attack.
In addition to the missile strikes on Kharkov, Russian troops also targeted energy infrastructure in the Lviv, Dnepropetrovsk, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Multiple facilities were damaged, leading to interruptions in water supply and power outages. Some fires were also started as a result of the attacks.
The Ukrainian energy company DTEK reported that four of their thermal power plants were attacked by Russian troops. Multiple fires were reported, along with injuries to individuals working at these facilities. Fires were extinguished, and damage was assessed in the affected regions.
