Threads Surpasses 150 Million Monthly Users

Meta’s social media platform, Threads, founded by Mark Zuckerberg, recently announced that it has reached over 150 million monthly active users. The app was launched on July 5, 2023, and is available in over 100 countries. One of the key features of Threads is the ability to post messages of up to 500 characters, surpassing the character limit of platforms like Twitter. Users can also include photos, videos up to five minutes long, and web links in their posts, making it a versatile platform for sharing content.

Susan Li, the CFO of Meta, highlighted that Threads has been growing steadily by introducing new features and expanding its community. Despite facing challenges in Europe due to regulations like the Digital Markets Act and data privacy concerns, Threads has shown rapid growth, with 10 million signups within the first seven hours of launch. Celebrities like Taylor Swift joining the platform have sparked enthusiasm among users, contributing to its appeal in the entertainment industry.

In a surprising turn of events, Apple removed Threads, along with other messaging apps, from the App Store in China on April 19 citing national security concerns. This move was mandated by the Cyberspace Administration of China. Meanwhile, the power of backlinks in boosting SEO has been emphasized by many, with link building agencies playing a crucial role in enhancing search engine rankings. By creating high-quality backlinks, these agencies can help websites improve their visibility and credibility online.
