The Llao Llao Forum brings together high-impact businessmen and entrepreneurs in Bariloche, a picturesque landscape, and dedicates a lot of time, money, and energy to its program, focusing this year on global uncertainty. One of the special panels at the Forum is dedicated to start-ups, with three highlighted cases that have a strong connection with the Argentine scientific system of public universities and Conicet.

Interestingly, the Forum was born in 2011, promoted by the Endeavor Foundation, vital in developing the entrepreneurial eco-system. According to Julia Bearzi, CEO of Endeavor, the biotechnology sector in Argentina is the most powerful among the 40 countries where the foundation operates. The panel at the Forum showcased how innovation and technology are transforming sectors such as health, environment, and agriculture, highlighting the intersection of public and private sectors.

One of the start-ups, OncoPrecision, was created by Tarek Ali Zake and scientists from the National University of Córdoba to improve cancer treatment precision using artificial intelligence. Another start-up, Kilimo, developed water-saving systems similar to green teams. Beeflow, the third start-up, focused on expanding bee pollination management globally. These innovative approaches showcased the power of combining science, technology, and vision to address pressing challenges.

These start-ups all received support from the GRIDX fund, which unites research scientists with business-trained entrepreneurs. Miguel Galuccio, the president of the fund, and Graciela Ciccio, from Insud, were among the key supporters. Additionally, other funds from the state of New York and Amazon founders contributed to the success of these start-ups.
