The EV charging station at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center is part of Penn State Health’s efforts to support patients, visitors, employees, and students who drive electric vehicles. Hampden Medical Center has eight EV charging stations located in various areas including the employee lot behind the hospital, the main visitors lot, and the emergency department lot. The charging fee at this location is $1 per hour.

Lancaster Medical Center also offers EV charging stations with a total of 16 stations located in the garage, visitors lot, and emergency department lot. The first four hours of charging are free, after which a fee of $2 per hour applies. Milton S. Hershey Medical Center has four EV charging stations located in the Westview Parking Garage near the University Conference Center, with a charging fee of $1 per hour.

The EV charging stations at these locations are managed by the EV charging network ChargePoint. Customers can use the ChargePoint app to see real-time availability of stations and receive alerts when their charging session is complete. Payment can be made using tap-to-pay credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Cash or older non-contactless credit cards are not accepted on-site. Charging your vehicle can be done by tapping your phone on the station, using a ChargePoint card, or pressing the “Start Charge” button on the station details page of the mobile app.

Penn State Health is continuously exploring opportunities to install more electric vehicle charging stations across the health system. For assistance accessing this content or requesting it in a different format, individuals can email Penn State Health Marketing & Communications.
