Halle Berry, known for her work as a director and Oscar-winning actor, has taken on a new role as an advocate for better menopause research and treatment. At the age of 57, Berry found herself unprepared for the life-disrupting symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, night sweats, and brain fog. Determined to change the narrative surrounding menopause, Berry began speaking out about her own experiences and shifting the focus of her wellness platform, Re-Spin, to center menopause.

Berry has made multiple trips to Capitol Hill to lobby lawmakers, including Washington Sen. Patty Murray, in an effort to expand federal investment in midlife women’s health research. She hopes to create a public awareness and education program focused on menopause and provide grants for health care workers looking to expand their training in this area. Berry’s ultimate goal is to destigmatize menopause and change the way society views this natural life stage.

Berry envisions a future where women entering menopause are celebrated rather than marginalized. She believes that society should celebrate women transitioning into this new stage of life, rather than treating them as if their lives are over. By sharing her story and advocating for change, Berry hopes to empower women to take control of their health and well-being during menopause.
