Twelve MU students and alumni recognized by NSF // Showcase of Mizzou Scholars // Mizzou

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program provides support to exceptional graduate students in STEM disciplines pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited U.S. institutions. The fellowship includes three years of financial support with an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost of education allowance of $12,000 to the institution.

Seven MU students and alumni were recently chosen for the program, while five others received honorable mention. The recipients for this year include Jacob Search in mechanical engineering and materials science, Mason Ward in wildlife and fisheries science, Yousuf El-Jayyousi in neuroscience, Kristen Barwick in biochemistry, Marissa LaMartina in biological sciences, Campbell Sweet in chemical engineering, and Laurie Agosto in biological sciences.

Those who received honorable mention this year are India Joy Matthews in psychology, Christopher Zobek in the pathobiology area program, Melissa Draves in plant, insect, and microbial sciences, Brooke Bowman in biological sciences, and Karen Talley in human development and family science.

The recipients and honorable mentions include both current students and alumni.
