According to security sources in Iraq, an attack was carried out on a military base of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on the outskirts of Babel, resulting in the death of at least two people and injury to three others. The attack was perpetrated by “unknown planes” and targeted the Kalsu base, which houses fighters from the PMF, as well as Iraqi military and police personnel.

The base is located about 80 kilometers south of Baghdad and serves as a joint facility for the PMF and Iraqi security forces. The sources, who requested anonymity, provided a preliminary casualty count and highlighted the presence of both the PMF and the Iraqi Army at the targeted base.

Evidence suggests that the attack may have been carried out by Israeli airstrikes, as indicated by reports on social media. The incident underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and the complex political dynamics involving various armed groups and foreign powers operating in Iraq. The situation remains fluid, and further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
