A total of 118 current or former Utah student-athletes are set to receive their degrees as part of the University of Utah’s Commencement on Thursday, May 2. This event will recognize graduates from Fall 2023, and Spring and Summer 2024 who have earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The University’s 155th general commencement can also be viewed on livestream at 6 p.m. MT on Thursday at www.utah.edu/live.
Utah’s student-athletes have a high graduation rate, with a 94-percent figure in the most recent NCAA GSR Report released in December 2023. This rate marks the sixth consecutive year that Utah has scored 93-percent or higher, ranking second in the Pac-12 behind Stanford.
The student-athletes from various sports programs, including baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, cross country, track & field, football, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, softball, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s and women’s tennis, beach volleyball, and volleyball, will be receiving their degrees during the commencement ceremony.
